MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum is holding a screenwriting contest.

The deadline is Oct. 15. The top three scripts will be sent to a celebrity judge, who hasn’t yet been named.

The winner gets $1,000, a listing in Inktip, a publication mailed to thousands including nearly 4,500 entertainment professionals, and a year subscription to Creative Screenwriting Magazine.

The nonprofit mentorship program was formed in 1982 and held one of the first national screenwriting competitions.

The group’s new president is Ken Miyamoto, a former Sony Pictures script reader and paid screenwriter
